Sierra Leone is rated the 8th worst country in the world to live. This is a place where friends fist bump not to be cool, but so they don’t catch ebola. Which makes it an odd spot to find jaw-dropping STYLE. With my partners Tony Norton and Jo Dunlop, I wrote, directed and produced this six-part documentary series that peels back the colourful layers of Freetown – Sierra Leone’s unlikely fashion hotspot - to look at how creativity and self-expression have the power to transcend circumstances.
